You are as effective as your ability to reskill
/This is the time.
I've been thinking about AI and how marketing teams are putting the technology to work - and will continue expanding their investments. Attached is a sketch I drafted two days ago and dropped into an image this morning.
Regardless of where in the product or service marketing cycle a business is (ideation, exploration, iteration, launch, messy middle, retention), the core categories of what they need to do are fixed:
Get smart on their target audience, competition, and the problem they uniquely solve (or will solve)
Produce marketing assets to communicate who they are, what they do, how they do it, why it matters, and - most importantly - how customers can find value - on an increasingly granular level
Improve their ability to execute efficiently and at scale
AI (e.g., co-intelligence) is changing how marketing activities are executed. Not the activities themselves. Today's massive reskilling is for marketers to get more out of those activities and generate higher returns for their company. This isn't easy and progress will be neither universal nor entirely as predicted. Over time, the multiplier will be worth the effort.
I try to break themes, topics, and objectives into understandable, ready-to-use parts. Sharing because maybe the attached will trigger an even bigger idea for you. Like all else, it will evolve over time.
Here’s the sketch:
